Declaration of Independence Essay example - 888 Words
Thomas Jefferson is probably the most important person of the American Revolution. Many other prosperous and expressive young people were radical and serious; however the Congressââ¬â¢s most significant task was given to Thomas Jefferson - to compose the Declaration of Independence. People from the committee of the congress such as, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston selected Jefferson to compose the Declarationââ¬â¢s first draft. They were all aware that he was able to produce powerful and striking sentences. Thomas Jefferson did not get to the basis of the Declaration of independence by meditation or prediction, nor by his own experience. He was clever and capable enough to use what he had learned from manyâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦However it should be mentioned that in that time concepts of sovereignty, of individual were related to classical and mediaeval thought, the rights of the individual were not a topic and the citizen did not rule but was ruled. Furthermore, there is no minimizing on Jeffersonââ¬â¢s views on Negro limits such as his proclamation that blacks lack beauty, intelligence, and most skills except music. So his concept of these human topics was completely different from the concept that we generally share today especially in civilized societies. Nevertheless he should not be blamed because that was probably the best that could have been driven from philosophical points of view in that time. The Declaration of independence contains the exact proof of the attitude of its creators i.e. Thomas Jefferson speaking in the name of the members of the congress who had chosen him to be their voice. They probably had the same conceptual viewing of the previously mentioned issues. Answer: Introduction: The EEF or Enterprise Environmental Factors are influential to the success of the project both internally and externally. It includes the weather conditions, political situations, market conditions, government regulations, culture and so on that has been generally out of control. It has been vital for the project team to manage the EEF effectively since they impact of the projects success. The report is developed on the identified impact analysis of EEF. Lastly the report includes the communication on the process and results to the various stakeholders. The evaluation of internal and external factors and their effect on the project management processes: The EEF has been always followed and could be in written format. However they are always in action and not in control of the team. The project processes gets influenced by the EEF and never change the EEF. Here the only exception is the managing and development of project team where the skills are built and added to future capability of the organization. The EEF inputs have been showing up as the input to various additional processes. The input denotes the factors external to the project that might or might not have the important effect on the projects success (Chen et al., 2014). Then it is on the project manager to make sense of the environmental factors of the organization (Fa, 2017). Plan communications This includes the documenting of the needs of communications of the stakeholders determined in the above process. For planning the project communication with efficiency any stakeholder register is needed. Apart from this, the effective planning of the project communication, it also needs the Stakeholder register and the stakeholder management strategy to get developed. This is to identify the process of the various stakeholders. Distribute information The project management area includes the effective execution of the communication management plan. This put simply, is the process to implement in the communication necessities of the stakeholders (Shuangyi, Yanan Jinsong, 2015). The other ones are the reporting methods and the communication methods. The primary output of the process of the performance reports. Conclusion: The main motive of the above report has been to put emphasis on the necessities for the companies to acknowledge the effect of their environments. This in turn has been affecting the organizations on the contexts of Enterprise Environmental Factors. It is seen from the above report that the commercial environment has been primarily characterized by the rise in trend of the globalization. The consumers have been getting used to the concepts of products available for almost unbelievable low expenses. The enterprise environmental factors have been the influences both externally and internally on the project. This involves the financial environment and corporate culture. The ethical environment has been developing. However the transition states have seemed to the applied to the developing economies. This suggests that the norms have been lagging behind the rise of industrialization for the foreseeable future. References: Burke, R. (2013). Advertisement Analysis A Soft Sell Advertisement Essay Example For Students
Advertisement Analysis: A Soft Sell Advertisement Essay Appealing to the audience The way that this advertisement is presented, it would be considered a soft sell. First off one idea behind a soft sell is that the brand is already established, and believe me Disney is already a well established company. There is so much happiness and positivity that is associated with Disney. It has been around for a long time and has grown exponentially world wide. Second the picture focuses mainly on the image of popular singer Taylor Swift, but she isnt just ordinary Taylor Swift. She is dressed like and has the hair of Rapunzel the princess. This is putting two well admired people together to make people want to be even more like them and it is suggesting Disneyland is the place where this dream can come to life. Lastly toward the top left of the picture it says ââ¬Å"Where a world of adventure awaits.â⬠This statement is not tell you really anything about the product itself, how its used or even what to do with the product. It is simply suggesting there is a world of adventure that awaits you and that the Disney parks should and could be part of that adventure. Also the colors of the ad make it seem a little dark and mysterious, but then there is Taylor Swift as Rapunzel in a beautiful purple dress with her long locks of hair glistening in the light. Plus the white birds sitting peacefully next to her it give the image a very calm and peaceful feel. It is definitely appealing to a more emotional side. This ad takes a popular music artist which many little girls look up to and strive to be like and a well known princess whom little girls also look up to and put them together into one person. This has double the power of making these little girls want to be more like Rapunzel and Taylor Swift, to do . .et absolutely brilliant idea that disney imagineers came up with is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. This is a store or rather boutique where your little girls can be transformed into a princess and your little boys can be transformed into prince charming. I mean really who wouldnt want to be a princess or prince charming, especially when your little one sees another child walking around and getting this special attention from all the cast members. Not only is this another way to enhance your childs experience but also another brilliant way to bring in more money for the company, plus it turns into free advertisement. Makeovers range in prices from a simple package at $54.95 to the all out royal treatment at $194.95 and up (Disneyland Resort | Welcome to the Magic, 2014). This is even more money that guest are spending to enhance their visit at the disney parks.

The Laramie Project Essay Example For Students
The Laramie Project Essay The Laramie Project is set in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998, where Matthew Shepard, a gay student from the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, beaten, tied to a fence and left to die. This play shows the audience the lives of the towns people in Laramie before, during and after the death of Matthew Shepard, as well as their reactions and emotions towards this incident.Ã I enjoyed all of the casts performances because each and every one of them portrayed their multiple characters very well. The performance that I enjoyed the most was Reuben Tucks, because he had to play so many different characters one after the other, and he made it seem effortless to the audience. We will write a custom essay on The Laramie Project specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now He played two completely different characters, Reverend Fred Phelps and Father Roger Schmidt. Reverend Fred Phelps is extremely anti-gay and goes to Matthew Shepards funeral carrying signs that say God Hates Fags to protest against the treatment that Shepard is receiving because he is gay. Father Roger Schmidt is a Catholic priest in Laramie and is not against gays, he does not believe that they are good or bad in anyway. At first when Reuben Tuck was shifting between the two holy figures I got confused because the costumes were exactly the same, he stuck a square piece of paper on his black shirt under his neck. Then he started to speak and the emotions and actions that he put into the two characters were equally strong but different in a way which allows the audience to understand that he is portraying a different character. I felt irritated and emotional during the scene where Amanda Gronich phoned the unnamed Baptist Minister to ask him about how he felt towards the Matthew Shepard incident. He said, I hope Matthew Shepard as he was tied to that fence that he had time to reflect on a moment when somebody had spoken the Word of the lord to him and that before he slipped into a coma he had a chance to reflect on his lifestyle. In another scene before this conversation on the phone the Baptist minister had a long monologue about how the Bible states that homosexuality is wrong and that good believers of god should not be gay and if they are they are going to go to Hell. After I watched these two scenes I couldnt help but notice that one of the reasons for Matthew Shepards death are people like the Baptist Minister who preach that being gay is wrong, to the younger generation. When I first read the synopsis of the play I didnt really know what to expect. I actually thought that we would get to see Matthew Shepard robbed, beaten and tied to a fence, so I was excited to see how the cast would be able to do a portray such a strong physical scene on a small stage. I was also wondering how all of the characters would be represented on stage, will actors continuously enter and exit the house? Will it be distracting for the audience, since we are sitting on all three sides of the stage? What will they do with the setting? Then when I got to the show everything was so simple- there were two large black platform like boxes on the stage and a couple of chairs. The platforms and chairs were basically the only things used as the physical setting. The actors wore simple black costumes. As the production progressed I noticed that the actors changed their costumes on stage in front of the audience. At first I found it strange because Ive never seen actors change on stage before, and then I began to find it distracting, because I began focusing not on the actor who was acting, but on the other actors who were changing their costumes and characters. However, the lighting helped me focus on the actor who was speaking. .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 , .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .postImageUrl , .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 , .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:hover , .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:visited , .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:active { border:0!important; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:active , .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677 .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u328d8a5beb95ee3fa0184e6ef8263677:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Woman in Black- drama coursework EssayThe actors usually changed their costumes where there was no spotlight, so the audience wouldnt be distracted. All of the costumes and props the actors used were on one table. Everything on that table looked extraordinarily unorganized, but the actors didnt seem to have any problems with finding what they needed. I thought the costumes were very simple but they still gave the audience an insight on what the character the actor was portraying is like.Ã The set did not only included two large black platforms for elevation, but a virtual screen which showed the setting, the simplicity of this allowed the scenery to change easily and all owed the audience to know whether the actors was portraying someone inside a house, in front of a hospital or at the fence where Matthew Shepard was tied to. Before I attended this show I didnt really know what lighting was really used for, I knew that I could enhance the performance but I generally thought it was unnecessary. However, the lighting allowed me to focus on the actor who was speaking and take in everything that they were saying rather than looking at the other actors.Ã Attending a play and watching a movie both have their pros and cons. I think that attending a play makes the plot of the story seem more realistic, because the actors are right in front of you, so you do not have to think for a second that this was tweaked by a computer. The connection between actors and audience is more powerful when in a theater because, the audiences reactions towards a scene in a play can cause the actors to feel more in charge and possibly improve what they are doing. When you are watching a movie, you do not have any impact on what the actors are doing. But you can see the actors more clearly and their tiny movements can mean a lot of things, while in a play the audience will not be able to see small movement, so everything must be exaggerated. The audience enjoyed the play. During intermission when we were told to leave the house the audience members were all talking about the play. During the play there was this woman pointing out certain performances to her friend and telling her the names of a few of the characters which she thought were worth pointing out. After the play, when we could ask the cast and director questions there was a man who was so awed by the show that he was disappointed that it was not performed on a much larger stage and he kept bringing it up over and over.Ã I would give The Laramie Project five stars because the actors performances as different characters were all incredibly memorable and distinct; the space provided was also used very well.

Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Essay Example
Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Essay Example Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Paper Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Paper Essay Topic: Poetry In both Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Browning criticises the position of women in Victorian society by showing the relationship between men and women through two dramatic monologues. In both of the poems the men appear to be the villains, in Porphyrias Lover Porphyria is killed by the man who she has run through the rain to seen. In My Last Duchess although it is unclear if the Duke had the Duchess killed or just sent to a convent, there is quite clearly something going on with the Duke saying I gave commands/Then all smiles stopped together. The Duke and Porphyrias certainly do not appear to be anything but villains but perhaps there is a little more to both characters. Although the characters may not be as simple as being just villains, it is very hard to feel much sympathy for them. They are both jealous and controlling, especially the Duke who even has to have control of the picture of the Duchess None puts by/ the curtain I have drawn for, but I. Porphyrias Lover is even more jealous and kills Porphyria so that she could belong only to him That moment she was mine, mine, with the repetition of mine emphasising the jealousy and selfishness of the character. The Duke and Porphyrias lover reduce women to objects with the Duke treating the Duchess very much as one of his expensive treasures and with Porphyrias love saying how Porphyria felt after he had murdered her The smiling rosy little head/so glad it has its utmost will. Neither has any understanding of the women in the poems, the Dukes selfishness is especially obvious in his comment But who passed without the same smile which shows how jealous he was when his Duchess even dared to smile at someone else. They both are very much in control over the women in the poems, with even god like associations; the Duke has a statue of Neptune Taming a sea horse which shows how the Duke feels natural things should be tamed, perhaps how he felt about his wife who appears to be very natural with imagery such as bough of cherries orchard and white mule associated with her. Porphyrias lover convinces himself that his murder of Porphyria was fine since God has not said a word which seems a frighteningly light hearted take on the murder of the women who mattered so much to him. Porphyrias love is certainly the more frightening of the characters, this is partly because of the metre used, iambic tetrameter, which gives the monologue an almost sing-song effect, and seems strangely calm considering it, tells the story of a murder. Porphyrias lover is more passive and wretched than the Duke adding to the sinister effect of the poem, this is shown in she put my arm about her waist and the pathetic fallacy at the beginning of the poem, for example the sullen wind and this wretched, depressed nature makes Porphyrias lover seem more selfish and villainous. The Duke is not as obviously villainous as Porphyrias lover, he appears to be more subtle, or least tries to be more subtle about the disposal of his wife, this is shown is his evasiveness which is made clear in his convoluted syntax, for example I said Fra Pandolf by design, for never read Strangers like you that pictured countenance. Although the Duke seems less frightening than Porphyrias lover he still comes across as controlling, possessive (My last Duchess) and selfish, and almost impossible to feel sympathy for. The same is true of Porphyrias Lover, he is a character who is it virtually impossible to feel sorry for. Perhaps this is because both of these poems are a criticism of womens position in Victorian society, women could not vote or hold political office and although attitudes were slowly beginning to change, women were still very much seen as objects, much like the Duke sees the Duchess as an object to be admired like his many paintings, and seen by many as being incapable of serious thought about anything. Robert Browning was married to successful woman poet Emily Elizabeth Barret Browning, who was more successful than Robert Browning during their lifetimes, indicating that Browning clearly thought women to be capable of more than just housework, unlike many other Victorian poets, most notably Coventry Patmore, who wrote The Angel in the House which described the perfect Victorian wife whose job it was to please her husband but him to please/Is womans pleasure. Both of the men in the poems might be so villainous you are not supposed to feel sorry for them, because they represent a larger problem in society rather than just individual stories. Although the Duke and Porphyrias lover are both clearly villainous characters perhaps it is impossible to feel no sympathy at all towards them. Both characters ultimately defeat their own desires; Porphyria belongs to Porphyrias lover for the short amount of time before her death is found out, and the Duke wanted the Duchess attentions to be focused only on him and his Nine hundred years old name, but how can this be achieved with the Duchess dead or locked away in a convent? It is only a small amount of pity felt towards them for this, but they both are very self deceived and unable to see the reality of their actions and the world around them for example Porphyria travels through the rain to see her lover in his cottage and he thinks that she is too weak to set herself free From pride, and vain tides dissever/ and give herself to me forever, however this might be feeling sympathy towards the situation overall not the men, because if they had understood what was really going on there would be no need for the women to have been killed. Perhaps, also, before this episode their relationship was more normal, would Porphyria journey through harsh weather to visit someone she thought would not show kindness to her however we cannot tell if she would as the story is told from Porphyrias lovers point of view. However violent and sinister the character of Porphyrias lover is there is still a bit of sympathy felt towards him, he is consumed by jealous and wants Porphyria to be his alone, but because she has a higher social status than him this is not at all possible. With the Duke the image of him running after the envoy Nay, well go/together down sir for me sums up just how pathetic the Dukes life is, he feels his world with pictures by famous artists Claus of Innsbruck and Fra Pandolf but yet he is unable to get what he wants, for his money and nine hundred years old name could not give him the Duchess undivided attention that he so craved. His convoluted syntax, which is empathised by the frequent use of enjambment, and attempts to be subtle show very effectively how hollow his life is, which is most clearly shown when he is addressing the envoy about a possible marriage between himself and the daughter of another noble towards the end of the poem The Count your masters know munificence Is ample warrant that no just pretence Of mine for dowry will be disallowed; Though his fair daughters self, as I avowed At starting, is my object and perhaps this is the main reason that some sympathy is felt towards him. Overall, although both characters commit terrible deeds however some sympathy remains towards them, although this might be partly because the stories are told from the mens point of view and we have to guess at the true events of each of the stories. Overall I feel that although both men are quite clearly villains, with Porphyrias love strangling Porphyria and appearing to feel no remorse at all, and the Duke sinisterly hinting at his was able to get rid of his last wife, it is impossible to feel no sympathy at all for them because they both have such hollow lives, in the case of the Duke, and would never have been able to achieve what they actually wanted especially Porphyrias lover who, because of his lower social status would never be able to marry Porphyria perhaps leading to his all consuming jealousy that led him to commit the murder.

Does developing consensus of Appropriation (COA) among team members of Essay
Does developing consensus of Appropriation (COA) among team members of the virtual environment have a major influence on the outcome of effective collaboration - Essay Example The frame work used for this study was Adaptive Structuration Theory (AST) which is based on Anthony Giddens Structuration theory (DeSanctis & Poole, 1994). From the study, we can conclude that the results acquired are controversial and do not present the complete picture of the research on consensus of appropriation due to various limitations. In the past information technology primarily supported business functions by just improving the efficiency. Advanced information technologies (AIT) are designed to support coordination along with interpersonal communication which epitomize to a new class of information technologies ( DeSanctis and Poole 1994). Adopting the Adaptive Structuration Theory Framework (AST) emphasizes how Advance Information Technology is used to mediate any influence on the effective collaboration in a GDSS system. The effective use of Group Support systems (GSS) to aid work in small groups has been an important topic of research since the mid 1980s as the major focus was on the technology rather than the factors which influence the outcome of effective collaboration in GSS. GDSS aims to improve the process of decision making by removing communication barriers. The factors influencing group problem solving include: reluctance to participate, inconsistent views about the problem's components and their rel ationships, undue dominance by one individual in the group, tendency towards premature convergence, unproductive avoidance or escalation of conflict, and issues of leadership (DeSanctis, 1996).It is interesting to look at the impact of developing consensus of Appropriation (COA) among team members of the virtual environment and whether it has a major influence on the outcome of effective collaboration. The impact of technology appropriation and consensus development on the collaboration effectiveness of the virtual groups is the topic which has certain perspectives for the further research, and the basis for such assumption lies in the fact that the rates of technological development at present are the highest, and their impact on the human life and on the decision outcomes as a part of the virtual groups' performance should not be underestimated. This is why I decided to make this topic the subject of my research, using the Adaptive Structuration Theory and literary resources as the basis for the analysis and discussion of the results acquired. Background The data set used for analysis was taken from the second semester of 2003 which was a joint effort between the first year students at Uppsala University at Sweden and the third year students of Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand. The collaborative database was developed using Lotus Notes at the school of computing and Information Sciences, AUT. The online collaboration consists of two phases. The first phase is Icebreaking activity which actually allows different users to introduce themselves and get familiar with the database in order to explore different features of it. . At the end of the phase one, the user evaluates and comments on the icebreaking task. The next phase is the group decision phase in which the group members had to evaluate 3 websites and accordingly rank them based on group

Defining oral history - Essay Example and development it is important to stay up to date with the current affairs from around the world not only to have a strong footing but to remain in the growing competition. The authenticity of this statement doesnââ¬â¢t need any more strengthening than the fact that the life of todayââ¬â¢s man is centered on the pros and cons of the day. That too, if only he is cognizant enough to begin with. Every single individual has the right to rise to their destiny in their own inimitable style, to embrace the uncertainty of life appreciating the miracle of being alive by giving importance to small things because however small they may be, they can be a hurdle in his quest to become the person he wants to be. Teaching in Content Area Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Teaching in Content Area - Essay Example It is thought however that with the use of applicable techniques and appropriate tools suited for a middle school student, teaching history to a student could be interesting. A student who is in middle school has considerably short attention span and is not used to rigorous academic lectures. Coming from primary school, their minds are still with the basics and are not yet that familiar with abstract learning such as history. In addition to this consideration, it has to be factored in also that students today are more attuned to multi-media instructional materials where they can interact with the medium compared to the traditional lectures where they sit and lesson and read history. Such, traditional approach may be boring to a middle school student of this generation. Considering this, instructional videos will be used instead of lengthy lectures to keep the students interest. Computers can also an excellent method of learning where the students can interact with the medium in the process of learning. Role playing can also be an excellent method of making history interesting to students. Also, discussion is encouraged more than lectures. integrated social studies learning is an interdisciplinary approach where two or more disciplines are taught in conscious relation to one another" (Jacobs, 1989 pg. 7) under an interdisciplinary curriculum that espouses "a knowledge view and curriculum approach that consciously applies methodology and language from more than one discipline to examine a central theme, issue, problem, topic, or experience" (p. 8). Integrated approach to learning intends to facilitate more learning by combining the various disciplines to real life situations. This type of learning transcends to a more interconnected view of the universe [where] knowledge is seen as an abstract whole to be accessed through inquiry of themes, issues, experiences, and problems (Mathison and Freeman, 1997). This approach to

Benefits and Types of Family Therapy
Benefits and Types of Family Therapy If you are looking for love that has no reservation, you have to go to your family. Ideally, a family is bound by selfless love-the kind that will not abandon you in times of need. Your family is a unit with members who will love and support you, no matter what. In reality, however, very few families can stay ideally strong 100 percent of the time. Most families have issues, not because they are weak, but because conflicts are natural. Unfortunately, these conflicts can also weaken family ties through misunderstandings, anger, strained family dynamics, unmet expectations, etc. Avoiding conflict isnt a realistic way to strengthen your family ties, but family therapy is. Differing Views: The Root of All Conflicts Having dissimilar perceptions and takes on various matters is healthy for any family. It can potentially become unhealthy when these different views are conflicting or clashing and the family isnt communicating the way it should. The tricky thing is the bigger a family, the more clashing opinions there are. For instance, a couple with one child may have an easier time making decisions because there are fewer people to consider in the process. If you have an extended family, making rules could be more complicated. A teenager may perceive rules as an attempt to control them. A grandparent supporting either party can be viewed as interfering. Even the parents may not agree on strategies for disciplining their teen. Family love may deter everyone from further complicating the differences, so as not to make them bigger. It can, however, mean keeping their intense emotions bottled up. While this can effectively prevent an immediate confrontation, it doesnt work in the long run. Like a volcano, the brewing conflict can erupt, hurling harsh and painful words. Resolving conflicts with the assistance of an experienced family therapist is a healthier option. The Basics of Family Therapy Despite the differences and clashing views, you would not dream of ripping your family apart. In the face of all aridity and disenchantment your family is still as perennial as grass-loving you without ifs or buts. However, wouldnt you prefer to have a family that is resilient in the face of all your challenges? If you are looking for a way to fortify your family ties, you cant go wrong with family therapy. According to the Mayo Clinic, Family therapy is a type of psychological counseling (psychotherapy), which EFTA says is a well-established and evidence-based approach alongside other psychotherapeutic modalities. It is a type of therapy that assists families in improving their communication and interaction systems for the purpose of resolving their conflicts and reducing their distress. Family therapy is based on the premise that each family is unique with a culture all its own. To successfully address a family issue, treatment cant be limited to the members exhibiting symptoms. To treat only the member who is identified as ill is like treating the symptom of a disease, but not the disease itself, says WebMD. Reaping the Rewards of Family Counseling Family therapy is a productive approach that can serve the interest of not only the affected members, but the whole family. After all, healthy family relationships benefit all the members. So, when one member is struggling with a medical issue or several members are having conflicts because of communication problems, seek out family therapy. It is an effective approach because it is comprehensive and considerate of the respective needs and relationships existing within a family system. It aims to work with families and their strengths, rather than on them. It recognizes the uniqueness of each family and their culture. It also works by bringing the conflicting members together during therapy. In these ways, the whole family is engaged in a productive effort to settle differences and resolve the issues, while fostering continuing support for each other. The Family That Heals Together The enormous love that binds your family can make forgiving possible, but healing is not guaranteed. Often, settling family issues on your own means simply forgiving and forgetting, which is why they can recur and threaten to harm your relationship further. If you want to bring back harmony in the family or fortify your family bonds, the key is to resolve your issues in a healthy manner. You can do this with the help of a family therapist contracted with Carolina Counseling Services in Pinehurst, NC. A professional licensed therapist can facilitate your conflict resolution in a safe and unbiased environment. An impartial setting has the positive effect of encouraging participants to be more agreeable and cooperative, because they perceive the outcome to be objective and fair. To maintain the love that binds your family, dont wait for your issues to snowball-commit to family therapy with a reliable therapist independently contracted with Carolina Counseling Services in Pinehurst, NC, to withstand more vicious and larger storms in the future.

My Antonia Essay: Independence and Belonging -- My Antonia Essays
Independence and Belonging in My Antoniaà à In My Antonia there are two types of women, those who want to have a man and those who donà ¹t. The key word is want, at no point does a woman need a man in the entire course of the novel. From the Hired Girls to Tiny Soderball and Lena Lingard women are capable of self sufficiency and happiness. The majority of the truly contented people are either alone or living without the opposite sex. Antonia and Cuzak are the only example of a à ³normalà ² happy couple, all others have some problems that prevent a normal relationship. Outline early years curriculum models supporting childrenââ¬â¢s care, learning and development Essay
One model of early years curriculum was introduced in September 2008. The Foundation Phase consists of 7 essential areas of learning; â⬠¢ Physical â⬠¢ Personal â⬠¢ Creative â⬠¢ Numeracy â⬠¢ Communication â⬠¢ Welsh language â⬠¢ knowledge of the world This was designed for children between birth and 5 and offers a developmentally suitable curriculum. Learning through play encourages creativity, imagination and makes learning more enjoyable and effective. It offers consistency at an extremely important developmental stage. It enables opportunity for a child to learn, grow and play at an equal rate as their peers. As each child has a right to the best start possible they are given this chance of reaching and achieving their potential through this experience. The Foundation Phase is a statutory framework and gives everyone, child, parent or career the confidence that their childââ¬â¢s education, health, and safety is fulfilled in a recognizable, measurable and achievable way. It allows early learning goals and talents to be recognized and reached. Early learning providers are given common principles, whether they are a private nursery, a childminder or a school, this ensures a reliable extensive range of knowledge throughout each childââ¬â¢s early years and provides an effective and strong foundation for their future. Another early yearââ¬â¢s curriculum approach is the Reggio Emilia Approach. This approach was influenced by many different theorists focusing on their studies of cognitive development, the importance of play, social aspects of learning and many more. The result of various collective philosophies permits focuses on the child, as a whole, with family participation, the environment, self-image while educators are closely monitoring a childââ¬â¢s natural creativity, curiosity, and imagination. This allows a child to learn through self-investigation and performing tasks that interest them. This encourages communication and understanding of new found knowledge learned independently and not taught. It allows educators to build on the strengths and weaknesses shown by the individual. A few principles and features of this method are; 1. Each child is capable, curious and strong 2. Children learn best when accompanied by another 3. Educators document work and play to understand a childââ¬â¢s general way of thinking 4. Educators are able to ââ¬Ëprovokeââ¬â¢ a childââ¬â¢s way of learning and thinking 5. ââ¬ËThe Hundred Languagesââ¬â¢ of a child is shown through singing, acting, drawing, painting, and buildingâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ¦ 6. Children are grouped in mixed ages 7. Children grow with a sense of responsibility 8. There are continually written observations made By incorporating such methods allow children to continue contributing to their own learning, offers a negotiated curriculum which is specific for the individual, helps to document progress on a particular level, encourages planned spaces and less structured rooms, helps build effective teacher-parent relationships and produces many more positive outcomes. Curriculum Cymreig model As the National Curriculum has common Obligation to Curriculum Cymreig, ââ¬ËA Curriculum Cymreig is a schoolââ¬â¢s explanation of the obligations of their own curriculum and philosophy. Curriculum Cymreig gives followers an understanding of how to celebrate in the typical way of the Welsh and teaches about the importance of living in Wales and learning Welsh. This method gives a sensitive learning of what itââ¬â¢s like to live in Wales and learn about Welsh geography, history, and religious education. Working in such methods allows the continuous development of traditional principles to be used and shared in Wales. Key principles of A Curriculum Cymreig; â⬠¢ Cultural ââ¬â respecting other cultures but celebrating language, religion, and tradition â⬠¢ Economic ââ¬â the political and cultural way of Welsh industry roles which outline the Welsh appeal ââ¬â learning past and present â⬠¢ Environment ââ¬â learning about past and present landscapes ââ¬â alternate energy sources â⬠¢ Historical ââ¬â comparing past and present relationships with other parts of the world â⬠¢ Linguistic ââ¬â teaching through the medium of Welsh ââ¬â learning the importance of the Welsh language This curriculum is specific to its towns and is very diverse by illustrating its proudness to welsh it allows children to appreciate and understand where they come from and how the country has developed over the decades, hoping it has a lasting effect on the future of the Welsh children.

The Bad Old Days - Porridge
The Bad Old Days - Porridge From the Hoax: In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes the stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while -hence the rhyme, Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old. The Facts In peasant cottages, there was no kitchen in which to cook. The poorest families had only one room where they cooked, ate, worked, and slept. It is also possible that most of these extremely poor families owned only one kettle. Poor town-dwellers usually didnt even have that, and obtained most of their meals ready-made from shops and street vendors in the Medieval version of fast-food.1 Those who lived on the edge of starvation had to make use of every edible item they could find, and just about everything could go into the pot (often a footed kettle that rested in the fire rather than over it) for the evening meal.2 This included beans, grains, vegetables, and sometimes meat often bacon. Using a little meat in this manner would make it go further as sustenance. The resulting stew was called pottage, and it was the basic element of the peasant diet. And yes, sometimes the remains of one days cooking would be used in the next days fare. (This is true in some modern peasant stew recipes.) But it was not common for food to remain there for nine days or for more than two or three days, for that matter. People living on the edge of starvation were not likely to leave food on their plates or in the pot. Contaminating the carefully-gathered ingredients of a nights supper with rotting nine-day-old remains, thus risking illness, is even more unlikely. What is likely is that leftovers from the evening meal were incorporated into a breakfast that would sustain the hard-working peasant family for much of the day. We have not been able to discover the origin of the peas porridge hot rhyme. It is unlikely to spring from 16th-century life since, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word porridge did not come into use until the 17th century. Addendum: Lauren Henry writes: A source is The Oxford Dictionary of Nursery Rhymes, edited by Iona and Peter Opie, published by Oxford University Press, 1997, pages 406-409. According to that, the rhyme made fun of a hawkers cry at Bartholomews Fair in the 18th century, documented in a description written by G.A. Stevens in 1762. Notes 1. Although this was famous, it was vanquished by the U.S. Senate adjournment. He was also a member of the peace convention. The compromise of 1850 involved Henry Clay. Clay took an active part and presented eight resolutions to the senate. The compromise aroused due to the spread of slavery that emerged out from the Mexican ââ¬âAmerican war around the territories of United States. Such territories include Texas, California and Mexico. The compromise was balanced between the expectations of these territories. The compromise for these territories differed accordingly; it was U.S paying the debts for Texas, which in turn allowed New Mexico to become a separate territory, California admitted as a state free of slavery. New Mexico determined its territory as ââ¬Å"popular sovereigntyâ⬠claiming that their stateââ¬â¢s population would vote for a slave free notion, and the implementation of the New Fugitive Law of 1850. However, the compromises were not accepted by any political figures of the time such as Jefferson Davis, who felt that the compromise made for California might perturb the authority of Senates in South and North regions of United States. William Henry Seward, a famous representative of the Northern Whigs claimed that the Compromises of the 1850 and the old Fugitive Slave might lose the slaves as fugitives, which in turn would become a supporting. factor for the land claims of the people of Texas. Stephen Douglas was a lawyer and a politician He also qualified himself as a senator for fourteen years and then as a presidential candidate. Econ5150final - Essay Example Another reason as to why the economy of these two nations as well as that of the general Asian region is the availability of technology and well skilled personnel who are able to use this technology to improve production (Onyemelukwe, Pg. 265). The high population of these nations has also been a contributing factor due to the fact that it creates a large and ready market for finished goods. In economics, one of the factors that influence the demand of a commodity is the size of the population. As such, with the high population in China and S. Korea, the demand for finished goods is high (Onyemelukwe, Pg. 266). Despite the numerous similarities between the economic growth and development of China and that of S. Korea, it is imperative to note that there are some distinguishing factors between the two and hence there exist a number of differences. As a norm, the economical and political environment of one geographical region will always differ from that of other regions. This article will purpose to compare and contrast the economies of China and S. Korea. It will address the variety of factors that influence the economies of the two nations before giving a conclusion on the same. Economy of China China is one of the nations that have had the most significant economic growth over the last couple of years. Being a third world country, China has been able to grow to such a level that today it is ranked second largest economy in terms of GDP second only to the United States of America which is considered a global superpower. In addition, over the period of the last three decades, China has been ranked as the fastest growing economy in the world registering an average growth rate of 10% per annum in the last thirty years (Lardy Pg. 3-6). In addition, China has also been ranked as the largest exporter in the world and at the same time as the second largest importer after the USA. It is also imperative to note that China is ranked first in manufacturing. It has outdon e the USA and has now become the largest service driven economy. Ranking on per capita basis, China was at position 87th by Nominal GDP in the year 2012. This was according to the records of the International Monetary Funds. Despite the enormous rejuvenation of the Chinese economy, it should be acknowledged that there are some parts of the country which are less developed tan others. For instance, areas located in the hinterland have experienced relatively slow development while areas at the coastal region are highly industrialized. China continues to strategize itself for further development and economic growth. One of the strategies that are guiding its development is the Xi Jinpingââ¬â¢s Chinese Dream. Under this dream, the China government is committed to achieving ââ¬Å"Two 100sâ⬠by the year 2049. This means, by the year 2020 which also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, the nation plans to have become a moderately well off community a nd that will denote the first 100 of the ââ¬Å"two 100s.â⬠then, by the year 2049, which will also be the 100th anniversary since the Peopleââ¬â¢s Republic was founded, it is expected that China will be a fully developed economy. There are a number of factors that have contributed to the growth and

How UNICIEF Has Changed the Perception of Children Coursework
How UNICIEF Has Changed the Perception of Children - Coursework Example Children have been given particular attention in the world.à This is due to the fact that for a long time now, society has been neglecting children and in some societies, the rights of children have been glossily ignored. The UN has made strides in protecting the rights of children and therefore it has created a separate body UNICEF which is given the mission of looking at the welfare of children.à It is in the sense that children are the inheritors of the world. A society that does not take care of its tomorrow is doomed to become extinct in the future. The main responsibility that any parent takes is to bring up aà à child who will inherit the world and leave it a better place than we have been able to build it. Therefore it is important to bring up children in a way that they feel a part of the world.à For a long time, children have been treated as less equal beings in society.à They have been exposed to all forms of abuse regardless of the future that any community is molding. This has had an effect on the generation that inherits the society as it has come to adopt the same social life that it has been exposed to when still young. It has been shown that children who are exposed to abuses are likely to result in the same means when they grow up since they come to adopt it as the accepted way of life. (Your Rights, 2008)Children have not only being abused in society but also in the family set up.à Discrimination of children has been one of the forms of abuses that have been used against children. In this regard access to family, resources have been dictated by the cultural beliefs and the values that are attached to some sexes. In many societies, males have been given preference over females due to the values that are attached to them. In India history has it that millions of females are still killed when young as they are considered a burden to society. Wives all over the world have been divorced as they donââ¬â¢t bear their husband the preferred child.à The fact that we have fails to recognize the rights of each and every child right from the family set up has been the main cause of the lack of observance of children rights in the society.

Bullying in Schools Essay Example for Free
Bullying in Schools Essay Bullying is an ongoing problem for many schools and communities. This behavior consists of teasing, threats, and stalking. This behavior is unacceptable and can turn violent, and even worse, deadly. There are many influences in todayââ¬â¢s world that promote this behavior such as music, video games, movies, parents and other peers. A bully is a person thatââ¬â¢s show strong aggression either physically or verbally and thrives on gaining power over there victim. A bully has no respect for others and will resort to violence if needed. The environment where the child/ youth come from is just part of a factor that makes a bully. A parent and or other adult figure that lives in a hostile environment and displays negative actions or a bully themselves inspire and teach these children this is how to act. Another factor is when a child is being abused they take all their anger, hurt and aggression out on another because it gains them negative self-empowerment. Yet, another factor of bullying could be just an individual trying to fit in to the ââ¬Å"in crowd ââ¬Å"of their peers. Yet, peers fail to see their future will bring them to jail or prison. A victim is the individual who receive the attack. These attacks can be verbal, physical or psychological abuse. Most victims picked on are loner and appear to be very insecure. They tend to not talk back or take action being picked on. A bully finds his victim by either there appearance, shy types or being behind in their academics (low grade point average). Most victims want to gain approval and exception from others and normally make several attempts with the bully. There are several side effects from being bullied such as psychological issues, depression (feeling helpless ââ¬â worthless), self- harm (cutting skin, hair loss), anxiety (stress), and worst case suicide. Bullying in schools is estimated 160,000 children and teenagers miss school every day out of fear of an attack or intimidation by another peer. Over two thirds of children and teenagers in our schools today have had some type of bullying and responded poorly to the situation. Researches show that bullying occurs more in boys than in girls when it comes to verbal threats. In the year of 1994-1999 there were 253 violent deaths in school, 51 casualties in multiple death events. Bullying is the main factor in school related deaths. (Hunter, 2012) Schools throughout the United States do respond to bullying with reactive meas ZERO toleranceâ⬠in place, they have also installed security cameras and have police on staff as well as monitoring hallways. As part of this policy students can be suspended and or expelled for carrying a gun or knife to school as well as bullying. On a recent pole I conducted many teachers and other school board members feel as though suspension and expulsion is an easy way for a child to escape out of education. Our communityââ¬â¢s fails to see the school may be the only positive place the child may be able to come, throwing them out is not the answer. The school over the last five years has introduced new programs which also include and family counseling. Programs such as early intervention helps children build social skills and offers anger management. Training for teachers and all staff that are involved daily with the children need to be able to recognize and respond quickly and positively. Teacher need to be able to provide positive environment and stick to the rules of conduct and donââ¬â¢t let no slip up happen, pay attention. Parents need to provide a positive environment and monitor your children and who they associate with. Also look up lyrics to the songs your child hears or watch the movies they watch. If you the parent wither be the victims or bully feels like extra help is needed talk to the school psychologist or the child doctor. Talk to your child, ask how they feel and offer solutions that promote positive help. Some people feel that bullying is just something that happens during your younger days and the child will grow away from their actions. Letââ¬â¢s look here; school shooting is on a rise killing innocent children attempting to get back at their bullies. Suicide as young as third grade destroys homes, families and communities. Drug use is higher than ever and teenager everyday day die from over dosing. Unless society takes steps to fight this disease that peers face daily it will continue to destroys young innocent lives at a downward spiral.

Juvenile Death Penalty Essay -- capital punishment, death penalty
A 16 year old boy is at the peak of their adolescent life, learning and discovering about puberty, maturity, right and wrong and future life goals. On the other hand, a man of 25 has matured, lived long enough to have made both good and bad judgments and has already been in the process of achieving those life goals they once thought of as a teenager. In a given situation, is it ethical to hold these two age groups, with mentalities that are worlds apart, to the same standards and punishments in the justice system? Until Roper v. Simmons in 2005, the justice system did just that, treat the actions of 16 year old with the same consequences as if they had been committed by an adult. In Roper v. Simmons the United States Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional to sentence a juvenile under the age of 18 to the death penalty. Before, Roper v. Simmons, in Thompson v. Oklahoma it had been decided that only those under the age of 16 could not be considered for the death penalty. Were these decisions correct? If an adolescent can commit such a heinous crime as homicide should they not also be able then to handle the consequences? The other side of the argument against the juvenile death penalty states that juveniles do not have the same reasoning skills as an adult and therefore cannot be held to same criminal blameworthiness. Facts will show that the United States Supreme Court was correct in their decision to ban the death penalty for all those under the age of eighteen. Recent brain imaging scans have shown that an adolescentââ¬â¢s brain is not fully developed until late in adolescence causing them to be immature, have diminished decision making capacity and underdeveloped reasoning and thinking skills (Aronson, 2007); qualities which ... ...onduct. Defining and Preserving the Well-Being of the Cree: waamistikushiiu v. miyupimaatisiiun :: Essays Papers
Defining and Preserving the Well-Being of the Cree: waamistikushiiu v. miyupimaatisiiun For the Cree, health is more than individual physiology. Health is definied by miyupimaatisiiun, a complex word that refers to an individual's enriching connection to his community and his natural environment. Miyupimaatisiiun can be interpreted as "being-alive well," a condition that includes the safety and security of family, friends and tribal members, as well as for the resources the Cree depend on to survive. Thus, the health of the Cree becomes a political entity, defined through challenging ââ¬Å"environmental, social, politicalâ⬠as well as physiological threats to traditional life. Politcially, the term signifies ââ¬Å"the ability to negotiate the obstacles that threaten the survival of the Creeâ⬠(57). To understand the significance of Cree health, there is much to be said for cultural definition through opposition. The key element of waamistikushiiu, or "whiteman health," that distinctly separates it from the miyupimaatisiiun is its numbing divorce from the earth. Removed from a lifestyle of hunting and dwelling in the bush, waamistikushiiu life is by and large unattached to the intimate land-life story of the Cree people. Without such a story, ââ¬Å"whiteman healthâ⬠is alien and blind in Adelsonââ¬â¢s ââ¬ËBeing Alive Wellââ¬â¢. Perhaps most significantly, waamistikushiiu health stubbornly denies the existence of other definitions of human health. Defined by individual physiology, waamistikushiiu health is universally evaluated against simple biomedical standards and ââ¬Å"determined in proportion to a relative absence of diseaseâ⬠(5). Cree miyupimaatisiiun, however, is not a ââ¬Å"biased and incompleteâ⬠standard of fitness, but a complex process compr ising social relations, land and cultural identity (4). In Whapmagoostui, ââ¬Å"accidental and suicidal deaths, drug and alcohol related illnesses, infectious diseases, and chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and cancer are all found- sometimes in disproportionate number-in native communities across Canadaâ⬠(14). By waamistikushiiu standards, such health conditions are deplorable; yet for the Cree, these ailments readily signify a deeper, perpetual ache of land and culture. For centuries, influences of waamistikushiiu culture have altered Cree living. Devastating fur trades, land usurpation, mercury poisoning in fish and waterways, and flooding damage are only a few of the casualties to Cree life in the whitemanââ¬â¢s pursuit of happiness. As ââ¬Å"the only way to acquire [miyupimaatisiiun] strength is to eat Cree food, and the only way to get Cree food is by hunting,â⬠the Cree are bound to defy whiteman devastation of their land and assert rights to survival on their own terms (94).

Hillary Clinton Bio - Political Career Highlights
Hillary Clinton Bio - Political Career Highlights Hillary Clinton is a Democrat and the partys nominee for president of the United States in the 2016 election. Clinton is also one of the most polarizing figures in modern American politics. She is a former first lady who launched her own political career after leaving the White House. Her primary opponent for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 was U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a self-described Democratic socialist who drew large crowds after building a solid following among young voters.à If elected, Clintonà would be the first woman president in history.à Many progressive Democrats, however, were lukewarm toward her candidacy because they believed her to be too tied to Wall Street. And Republican Party leaders cheered her candidacy because they believed their nominee would easily beat a scandal-plagued candidate in a general election in which trust would become a major issue.à Related Story: Could Bill Clinton Serve As Hillarys Vice President? Here are some key facts about Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clintons Campaigns for President Clinton has run for the Democratic presidential nomination twice, once in 2008 and again in 2016. She lost the primary race in 2008 to Democratic U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, who went on to win the presidency that year by defeating the Republican nominee, U.S. Sen. John McCain. Clinton won 1,897 delegates in the 2008 Democratic presidential primaries, short of the 2,118 needed to win the nomination. Obama won 2,230 delegates. Related Story: Why the 2016 Democratic National Convention is Being Held in Philadelphia She was widely seen as the presumptive nominee even before the 2016 campaign began, and she lived up to those expectations in many of the early primaries, including her substantial victories on Super Tuesday of that year. Key Issues When she announcer her candidacy in April of 2015, Clinton made it clear that the biggest issue of her campaign would be the economy and helping the vanishing middle class. In a short video posted on the Internet by her campaign that month, Clinton said: Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times, but the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top. Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion so you can do more than just get by. You can get ahead, and stay ahead. Because when families are strong, America is strong. Related Story: Hillary Clinton on the Issues At Clintons first campaign rally, held in June of 2015, she continued to focus heavily on the economy and the struggles of the middle class hit hard by the Great Recession of the late 2000s. Weââ¬â¢re still working our way back from a crisis that happened because time-tested values were replaced by false promises. Instead of an economy built by every American, for every American, we were told that if we let those at the top pay lower taxes and bend the rules, their success would trickle down to everyone else. What happened? Well, instead of a balanced budget with surpluses that could have eventually paid off our national debt, the Republicans twice cut taxes for the wealthiest, borrowed money from other countries to pay for two wars, and family incomes dropped. You know where we ended up. Professional Career Clinton is an attorney by trade.à She served as counsel to theà House Judiciary Committee 1974.
